Bereavement: COVID-19 in Malaysia (Self-Test Kit)
I learnt the word "bereavement" two years ago when my grandma left me.
This was not my first loss in life but definitely the hardest. Till today, I still remember how her soft and small figurine felt when she hugs me goodbye as I left for work.
Cancer gave us the leniency of 10 years to love her, knowing that she might slip away anytime to a better world.
Then, mercilessly took her away without us being prepared for the pain of never seeing her again.
Finally went through all the five stages of grieving and landing on "Acceptance and Hope", things should be hopeful as the name sounds.
But no, we start it all over again. Life cycle at its best.
We now not only deal with the human life cycle but the virus life cycle too.
For continuously two years, the headlines were always Covid-19. News headlines about scandals that I usually take notice of to create immature topics to babble to my friends were now only found over the back pages.
I miss life.
There was so much negativity revolving around as friends and relatives lose their loved ones to the virus (the most lonely death in the world), venturing on their journey in the five stages of grieve.
Now, the last stage of grieving seems at sea.
Malaysia is obviously facing an economic downturn with politicians running around like headless chickens. Profuse sick and vulnerable citizens queuing up to be admitted to hospitals that are overwhelmed with Covid-19 patients.
I am not going to lose this battle. I will remain firm on the edge of my last stage of grieving, staying hopeful and positive.
Malaysians, play our part and be prepared. We are already blessed compared to Afghanistan's tragedy.
Up up, get yourself ready. We are at war. The Ministry of Health ("MOH") had announced that Category 1 and Category 2 Covid-19 patients would be quarantined at home, so activate your combat mode.
